Beija Flor finds its inspiration in special symmetric geometric patterns.

These patterns originated hundreds of years ago when people searched for an expression of harmony and balance found in nature.

These shapes were perfected over generations.

They have an unexplainable magic which draws you into their inner beauty and provides a gateway into yourself.

A flower in the garden, our fingerprints, a snail on the grass…

The Flower of Life

The flower of life is a symbol of the sacred geometry. It is the most ancient form in the world. It contains within itself all the symbols and forms of the ancient world. The flower of life represents a network of pure life forces holding the primal cell memory, an information network containing the secrets of Genesis.

Sacred Geometry

Sacred Geometry is a world of power forms which reflect nature and harmony of creation. These forms withhold an insight of an axis point which opens and echoes in an infinite space. In a simple and deep way, consciously and unconsciously, we ask for their presence in the space we live in.

The Golden Section

The Golden Section is a mathematical proportion derived from The Fibonacci series. The value of the Golden Section is : golden-ratio Mathematicians have found that this proportion exists all around us in nature. In the way the shell of a snail is built. In the way seeds of the sunflower spiral out of its center. In the way the leaves are situated on a stem providing an equal chance for sunlight for each leaf… Great Artists over generations were fascinated with the Golden Section and especially in the form of the golden rectangle. In the Golden Rectangle, the ratio of the longer side to the shorter side is the Golden Section. The Golden Rectangle was used in the design of the Parthenon in Athens, in works of Leonardo Da Vinci and many other art forms such as music written by Bartok’… After years of designing and selling BFVM, we have found that the mat which was closest in its rectangular proportion to the Golden Section was our most popular mat (60cm x 100cm). People could not even explain why they found its proportions so pleasing. We decided to change its proportions a tiny bit in order to make it as close as possible to the Golden Section (60cm x 97cm 97/60=1.617). You will find a stamp of the Golden Section on the back of these Golden Section mats.
